DARK INHERITANCE.

The Ghost, Ghoul & False God Survival Guide

You were born into a story you didn’t write.
Before you understood love, relationships or even yourself, you were learning the rules of the Forest:
who disappeared, who consumed, who had to be pleased — and who you needed to become in order
to survive.
Dark Inheritance is a psychological survival guide to the family patterns we inherit and unknowingly
carry into adult life.
At its centre are three archetypes:
The Ghost teaches that love disappears.
The Ghoul teaches that love consumes.
The False God teaches that love must be earned.
Children adapt. They become good, clever, invisible, beautiful, useful, self-sufficient or impossible to
abandon. What begins as survival can slowly become identity.
Then childhood ends — but the pattern doesn’t necessarily end with it.

The child who waited may become the Girl in the Window. The child who earned love may become
the Worshipper. The child who survived by being useful may become the Rescuer. The girl who
learned that beauty brought attention may become the Rated Girl or False Goddess. And sometimes,
after waiting, pleasing and performing for too long, the heart simply freezes — and the Snow Queen
appears.
Dark Inheritance asks a different question about the people and relationships that repeatedly capture
us:

Why does this particular kind of person feel like home?

Part psychology, part memoir, part cultural storytelling and part practical recovery guide, the book
uses archetypes, fairy tales, popular culture, personal experience and clinical observation to make
invisible family patterns visible.
Because once you can see the Forest, you can begin to find your way out.
